International Business Alliance (IBA) Session at the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce benefits Russian-American business partnership.
MAY 20, SAN FRANCISCO, CA.
The International Business Alliance (IBA) seminar, a workshop for California-based companies interested in international business, was held at the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce on May 16, 2005 with AmBAR representatives. The IBA is a San Francisco Chamber of Commerce leads exchange program for mid-to-senior level international business professionals. IBA members have an average of 10-15 years international business experience, and are experts in international accounting, government affairs, transportation, business expansion, and public relations. The current IBA group has closed over $143,000 of business leads in ten months.
Some essential issues, such as using local resources and opportunities for international business, were covered during the seminar. Among speakers, besides AmBAR, there were heads of The International Diplomacy Council, the Italian Trade Commission, The Greater Zurich Area, Czech Invest - Investment and Business Development Agency of the Czech Republic, Invest Northern Ireland and the Victorian Government Business Office of Australia.
“There is a large pool of technology companies in Russia that would like to expand their presence into international markets\", says Anna Dvornikova, President of AmBAR, “but there is an obvious lack of understanding how to market themselves globally or how to approach venture capitalists or potential technology partners in the US. So, I hope such networking events will benefit Russian-American partnership in the area of information technology. It is hard to overestimate the importance of such exposure. Now AmBAR has a chance to receive leads for Russian-speaking entrepreneurs, network with responsive professionals and increase international exposure of the organization.”
